Install

Requires Go 1.27.1 or newer. No CGO. Tested on Windows 11 and Ubuntu 22.04 (WSL2).

Terminal window
go build -ldflags="-s -w" -trimpath -o filesystem-ultra ./cmd/filesystem-ultra

Build ./cmd/filesystem-ultra. Do not build the module root.

With ripgrep embedded (larger binary):

Terminal window
go build -ldflags="-s -w" -trimpath -tags embed_rg -o filesystem-ultra-embed ./cmd/filesystem-ultra

Windows and Linux helper scripts: Build and tests.

At least one allowed path is required. Omit it and the process exits 2, unless --insecure-open (labs only, entire disk).

Terminal window
./filesystem-ultra --profile=strict --compact-mode --roots-mode=union /path/to/project

Paths may be positional arguments after the flags, or one --allowed-paths value with commas. Do not repeat --allowed-paths. Go flag.String keeps the last value only.

Terminal window
filesystem-ultra.exe --profile=strict --compact-mode --roots-mode=union --allowed-paths C:\proj,D:\other

--version prints the server version, MCP 2025-11-25, commit, build date, Go version, and GOOS/GOARCH. Commit dev means the binary was not stamped.

Transport is stdio. There is no HTTP listener on this binary.
